We are here to help!

  What's Happening

I-Zoom
(2nd Wednesday of Month) from 7-8:30 PM EST

You served honorably, and now you need help.  From simple things like finding resources, to big things like homelessness, education, healthcare, and benefits...      our team can help.

This Is Our Story

INTERNITY was founded 10 years ago, as the result of Dr. Ruth Moore's battle to get access to her VA benefits and healthcare.  After a 27 year fight, she was successful; but she also realized that nearly 26,000 veterans per year are not getting the benefits they have earned.  And so, she founded this organization to Advocate, Assist, Educate, and Empower her fellow brother and sister veterans.

All of the work that INTERNITY has done and will continue to do, is based on Dr. Moore's dissertation. Over a period of 4 years,  Dr. Moore researched and wrote, Biohacking the PTSD Brain with Complementary Medicine.  Her focus was to explore and standardize the use of evidenced-based complementary therapies instead of relying upon pharmaceuticals to treat issues arising out of Post-traumatic stress conditions.

Being INTERconnected in our humaNITY
Makes Us INTERNITY...

Our Team is comprised of Veterans or Family Members who have experienced struggles after service.

We have experienced all that our veterans experience... poverty, homelessness, stigmatization and gaslighting, abuse, and suicide.  We rose above these conditions, because people cared enough about us, to step in.  Now, we give back as funds and time allow us to.

Our programs and services are effective.  We don't just "talk the talk,"  we actually get results.

There is a time to walk softly while carrying a big stick, and there is also a time to challenge dysfunctional systems.  Our team can navigate through obstacles and help our veterans, while re-educating and changing systems.

Our partners are world-wide.  Our veterans' needs range from the continental United States to Canada, Europe, and Central / South America.

Our veterans are not constrained by borders or politics.  Our team can travel to Canada, Central and South America, and Europe to meet the needs of Expats and those foreign nationals who served honorably in the United States military.

You don't have to face an uphill battle alone.

Our veterans often face multiple challenges and need to new skill sets to navigate through the complex physical, social, legal, and economic issues that are not found in the military.

Most issues that our veterans face can be resolved with the 3Cs (Communication, Compassion, and Commitment). They don't have to "tough it up" or "go it alone!"

We can help with 1:1 services, multiple FUN (therapeutic) activities, focus groups, and programs with our team or our partners.

Be The Exception

You worked hard to become qualified in your military specialty... now that you are out, you have found that your MOS doesn't carry over into civilian life. We can help you through our unique transcript analysis and asynchronous degree program. Our team has the knowledge to help you learn and earn a humanistic degree.

You (and your family) are homeless or are in danger of becoming homeless. Let our team help you develop a plan and match you with organizations who can partner with you and create stability. Book a free consultation with them.

Being a disabled veteran who is unemployed or under-employed is a financial challenge. There are many ways to meet household expenses, and we can connect veterans to job coaching services, seminars, classes, and resources that can help.

You have the skills but can't get hired, or you can't keep a job longer than a few weeks. Our partners can help you look at what challenges you may be facing to finding or keeping good employment.

You are sick and tired of feeling sick and tired or worse, being in constant pain, and you are not getting the help from medications or the VA. Book a free consultation with our partner organization, Downeast Wellness to learn how to follow a new wellness pathway.

Crowds and people are difficult. You don't "people" well and no one truly understands the crap you are going through. Let our team members at Downeast Wellness connect you (and your family) to your community through safe, "veteran friendly" activities.

You have earned your benefits, but can not access them. You may have tried and gotten lost in paperwork, gotten the run around from the VA, and / or gave power of attorney to service officers who weren't aggressive advocates. Our team knows this journey, and we can help you streamline the process.

When veterans are faced with issues in their families or their community, we often have to "deep dive" into what is preventing success. Our team is familiar with many behaviors and resources that can affect family relations. Book a free consultation with us and see how we can help.

Testimonials

Male (USN) - Benefits Issue

"Thank you for being here!  I couldn't get an appointment with my VA provider until April (2 months away).  For the first time in 3 months, I am not in pain.

Male (USMC) - Healthcare

Male (USMC) - Veteran Status, Benefits, Homelessness

Because of you, I was able to get a reliable vehicle and healthcare in the United States.  My people don't see me as a begger now - they see me as a warrior.

Female (USMC) - International Healthcare, Benefits, Empowerment

Former VA Secretary Robert (Bob) McDonald (2015)

"They called me a 'Shitbird' because of my OTH discharge.  You understood that it was an undiagnosed brain injury and PTSD and helped me get my discharge upgraded."

Thanks, Doc!

Male (USMC) - Discharge issue, Healthcare, and Benefits

"Blessings to you and your family.  In less than 30 days, you helped me get my benefits increased and now my wife and I can live comfortably.

"Thank you for believing in me.  I never knew that I was eligible for benefits and services, and before you helped, I had no hope of ever getting off the streets."

" You are doing God's work - helping the veterans who are lost in the system.  It shouldn't be this way for them!  Keep doing what you do, it makes a difference.

"I was a Nurse in Vietnam.  My knees were destroyed on active duty, and my claims were denied because I wasn't in combat.  Dr. Ruth asked me for my brag book and saw the picture of me carrying a soldier on my shoulders.  She went to DC and fought for me and I have full benefits and 2 new knees now.

"I ran away from my ship before it deployed, to save myself from being gang raped again.  This saved my life, but also gave me a dishonorable discharge.  INTERNITY fought for me and had it overturned.

Female (USA) - Healthcare

"I called 7 of my buddies at the Legion.  No one had time to talk, except Ruth.  No one knew that I had a loaded gun and was going to kill myself if she didn't pick up.  She took the time to listen, helped me get my benefits, and stuck with me until I could get into assisted living.  INTERNITY is real!
